A well-prepared shipment means fewer worries: one dispatcher contact, a clear schedule and documents delivered together with the goods. Germany is the destination we run most often, and Austria is our shortest route from Slovakia. A few details at the start save most of the phone calls later.
How long does it take
The times below are indicative, from Slovakia (for Austria, from Bratislava and western Slovakia), under normal conditions and with one driver. They are not a binding promise. The unloading time window, traffic and the driver's mandatory breaks all matter. We confirm the specific date in the quotation.
| Destination |
Indicative time |
| Vienna and Lower Austria |
loading and unloading mostly the same day |
| Graz and Styria |
usually 1 working day |
| Salzburg, Innsbruck |
usually 1 to 2 working days |
| Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg |
usually 1 working day |
| Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Hanover |
usually 1 to 2 working days |
| Within Germany |
often the same or the next day |
Full truck or groupage
Full truckload (FTL) means the whole loading space for one shipment and direct delivery without transshipment. It is the most common choice on German routes. Groupage (LTL) is a few pallets without a whole vehicle. The price is lower, but the delivery window is wider. If your customer has a fixed slot, we recommend ordering at least a day ahead.
Tolls and fees
German and Austrian tolls, fuel and fees are included in the quoted price. We build Austrian driving restrictions for trucks into the route plan, so you do not find out about them when the vehicle is already standing still. If the route changes or a pickup is added, we adjust the price in advance, never afterwards.
What to put in your request
Checklist:
- loading and unloading addresses,
- dimensions and weight of the shipment,
- number of pallets or gitterboxes,
- required date and loading and unloading time windows,
- goods value, if higher, so we can arrange extra insurance,
- special requirements, for example temperature control or ADR.
Documents and insurance
Every shipment comes with a CMR consignment note confirmed at loading and at unloading. It is proof that the goods were received and of their condition. The carrier's liability is covered by CMR insurance. Slovakia, Germany and Austria are all in the European Union, so you need no customs documents. A transport document and the goods documents are enough. We send copies electronically and originals as agreed.
How the quotation works
- Send a request through the form or call dispatch.
- Within 2 hours you receive a quotation with the price, vehicle type and expected times.
- After you confirm the order, you get the dispatcher's contact, who manages the shipment from loading to unloading.
- The confirmed CMR and other documents are handed over with the shipment.
We run Germany and Austria in both directions, so we can combine unloading in one country with loading in the other. That lowers the price and the time a vehicle would otherwise drive empty. Our pages on freight to Germany and freight to Austria describe the routes, cargo types and transit times in more detail.
Frequently asked questions
Can you load within the window set by our customer? Yes. German plants and distribution centres work with reserved time windows, so send them together with the request. We then plan the vehicle for exactly that window.
Do you also run shipments that start and end in Germany? Yes, they are among our most frequent. We assign the order to a carrier authorised for such transport and we follow the cabotage rules for you.
Can you load and unload in Vienna on the same day? Mostly yes, if loading and unloading give a window within one working day. Call dispatch and we will tell you right away whether a vehicle is within reach.
