Freight transport to and from Romania

Romania we drive mostly towards German customers and the other way round — from German plants into Romanian production. Part of the route runs off the motorway network, so the date is planned around how reachable the address really is, not around the map.

The Romanian directions we drive

Most loading sits in the west and in Transylvania, and from there the lanes run into Germany and Central Europe.

Western Romania

Timișoara, Arad and Oradea are closest to Slovakia and account for most of our Romanian loading.

Transylvania

Cluj-Napoca, Brașov and Sibiu — automotive components, electronics and furniture.

From Romania into Germany

A regular full-load direction. We load at the Romanian plant and unload at the German customer with no transhipment.

Bucharest and the south

Components and finished goods into the Bucharest and Ploiești area; the run is a few hours longer.

What we carry on Romanian lanes

Automotive and electronics components, furniture, textiles and packaging material.

Full loads (FTL)

A whole vehicle and direct delivery with no transhipment — on a longer run the safest thing for the goods.

Part loads (LTL)

Smaller shipments without the cost of a whole vehicle, with a wider delivery window.

Temperature-controlled

Controlled temperature with a log where goods must not freeze or overheat.

The order, the paperwork and the routing

Send the loading and unloading addresses, dimensions, weight, number of pallets and the date. The quote arrives within 2 hours along with the vehicle type and the expected times. The order is confirmed in writing and the dispatcher running the job keeps you posted on loading and unloading.

Every shipment travels with a CMR consignment note signed at both ends of the route; the carrier's liability is covered by insurance under the CMR convention. Romania is in the European Union, so customs clearance is not required — the transport documents and the papers for the goods are enough.

Parts of the Romanian network have no motorway and the approach to a plant can be slower than the map suggests. The date therefore carries a margin, and for unloading in a mountain or rural setting we verify the address up front. Toll and charges are part of the quoted price.

Indicative transit times

Ranges from Slovakia with one driver and under normal conditions.

Timișoara, Arad, Oradea
Usually 1 working day.
Cluj-Napoca, Brașov, Sibiu
Usually 1 to 2 working days.
Bucharest, Ploiești
Usually 2 working days.
From Romania into Germany
Usually 2 to 3 working days depending on the unloading region.

The times are indicative, not a binding promise — how reachable the address is, the unloading window, traffic and the driver's mandatory rest all affect them. The date is confirmed in the quote.
